I am Lynette McTigue, Global Industry Marketing Manager for Manufacturing and Energy at Xerox Global Services, and I will be facilitating a discussion on current issues and trends in the manufacturing industry through this blog. IT has played a significant roll in basically all manufacturing processes. The new challenges in global manufacturing will present new opportunities for IT firms to drive transparency in the Global Supply Chain and Global Distribution Channels. One example, as the Asian market continutes to grow, Chinese Tier Three to Tier Five cities will continue expand. These cities will require new mass market products. The manufacturing and distribution of those products will create a new IT opportunity for data management and MES systems for small and mid tier manufacturers, as well as their global counterparts.
